Skiing Andorra

The undiscovered gem thats great fun on and off the slopes

Sitting between France and Spain, Andorra has slipped under the radar of many British skiers for some time but we feel it's a gem waiting to be discovered. Grandvalira is Andorra’s biggest ski region and incorporates the resorts of Soldeu el Tarter, Pas de la Casa/Grau Roig, Encamp, and Canillo. The area offers 173 pistes in total with skiing between 1710 and 2640 metres altitude and a maximum vertical of 930 metres..

Pas De La Casa
Lively resort with great Apres ski
This lively resort (referred to locally as Pas) is situated just a few hundred metres from the French border in the parish of Encamp. The resort sits at an altitude of 2050m with the highest lift at 2640m making Pas the highest resort in the Pyrenees. Due to its superb location (and heavy investment in artificial snow making) Pas enjoys an excellent snow record.

El Tarter
Great skiing, intimate but lively
El Tarter has grown over recent years to the point where it now seems no smaller than Soldeu; but it is quieter and there is no shortage of places to stay.
The main local slopes are on open mountainsides above the woods, though there are runs in the woods back to all of the resort lift bases.

Perfect for families
Canillo is perfect for families; quite and refined with access to the ski area via the telecabine upto El Forn where there are some excellent nursery slopes.
Canillo has a vertical drop of over 2000 ft. There are 4 groomed trails and 7 lifts. As with the majority of the Grandvalira ski region, beginners and intermediates are by far the best catered for.

The ski capital of Andorra
Soldeu is set on a steep hillside facing the ski area across the valley. It is on the busy road that runs down the valley from France to Andorra la Vella and on to Spain; El Tarter, a few miles down the valley, and Canillo, a few miles further, are alternative bases with major lifts. Soldeu is the ski capital of Andorra. Centrally situated in Grandvalira, Andorra’s biggest ski region, at a base altitude of 1,800m.
